I DIG HER: Solange Knowles
Solange Knowles (also know as Beyoncé's little sister) has quickly became a fashion icon in her own right.
First off, can I say that I absolutely LOVE her natural hair!
I’m totally inspired by the above outfit. The colors have me looking forward to spring and summer!
Beauty is definitely her name! What say you? Dig her or ditch her?!

NAIL LOVE: Sally Hansen Salon effects nail polish strips
I purchased the Sally Hansen “SALON effects” nail polish strips a few weeks ago and figured today would be the perfect day to try them out.
Ooh I think I LOVE them!
Hope you’re having a fabulous Saturday!

GOLDEN GLOBES 2012: best worst and awkward dressed
If you’re anything like me, you love the red carpet preshow before any of the award ceremonies… For the Golden Globes last night, I had a few favorites. And with any red carpet, there will always be someone who gets the worst dressed and for me “awkward dressed”!
AWKWARD DRESSED
Salma Hayek’s dress really made her look a little awkward. She is already short and small framed so to me, the metallic top part of the dress kinda chopped her up. Then the way the gown went to the floor just made it look like it was just too long for her. But I must say that I LOVE LOVE LOVE her and that dress, just not together!
WORST DRESSED
Sarah Michelle Gellar's Monique Lhuillier gown should have stayed on the rack… OMG, not sure what else I can say about this.
BEST DRESSED
My best dressed picks were tied . Angelina Jolie was stunning in her Atelier Versace gown. Seriously, the red lip and HER red lips, were just the perfect touch!
Sofia Vergara in Vera Wang is ALWAYS a show stopper on the red carpet. I have not seen one gown that she doesn’t look fabulous in! Her curves are perfect.
Who were some of your favorites from the Golden Globes 2012?!

A LOVE AFFAIR WITH LEOPARD: Adding Pink!
You already know that I love leopard and I shared with you that the only piece of leopard I own is a scarf.
This past Saturday was my husbands birthday and we celebrated by going out to Fogo de Chao. I decided to wear something simple so I put on black jeggings with a sleeveless turtleneck and my latest pink blazer that I scored for $4.29 at my local thrift store.
The color of this blazer is more of a raspberry and it has already become one of my favorite pieces of clothing!
I didn’t realize until after I downloaded these pictures that I forgot to apply my makeup… But natural beauty is in, right?!
If you aren’t totally convinced when it comes to pink and leopard, here are a few more snippets of how fab pink and leopard look together
So, have you decided to pair pink with leopard?!

A LOVE AFFAIR WITH LEOPARD: Scarves
I have a deep love affair with leopard. The funny thing about this so called love affair of mine is that I don’t own a lot of it! The one piece (yes I do mean one piece) that I have is a scarf.
(I wear too much if you ask my husband!)
I think leopard or cheetah is a staple in any fashionista’s wardrobe. Don’t you agree?
Pairing it with green or pink works as well as yellow or more of a mustard hue.

You can never go wrong with leopard and red. You just can’t!
I’m currently on the hunt for more leopard to add to my wardrobe. From shoes to even something as simple as a belt, I need a little more of this print in my possession. Is leopard part of your wardrobe?

MY WEEKEND IN A FLASH
Happy Monday! Just popping in to share a few snapshots of my weekend
I have gotten hooked on going to thrift stores and finding fabulous clothing pieces. This pink Lord and Taylor blazer was a total score for $4.29. It’s a wool/cashmere blend and it’s perfect with my grey skinnies!
I’m in the middle of putting together a list of 30 things I want to do before I turn 30 and wearing red lipstick in one of them! I wanted to start small, so I purchased some red Revlon lip gloss. The color is called “Fire” and it was just what I needed to give me the confidence to go forth with finding the right shade of red lipstick. Next stop, the MAC counter!
I love pops of red in the winter time. And this red “MJ” inspired jacket from Ashley Stewart was the perfect addition to this blue and black ensemble.
Vintage COACH anyone?! Ever since I found out COACH brought back their classic bags, I’ve been on the hunt for one of the originals. Lucky me because I found one at thrift store for $15.99!
I spent Friday night wondering why I never wore these shoes… I’ll fix that this upcoming weekend
I’ve been going back and forth on cutting my hair again. I love my curls, but I also loved my shaved head… This weekend, I almost pulled out the clippers. But for some reason, I can’t do it. Maybe for the spring.
Lastly, I attended my sis inlaws surprise birthday party Saturday night… It was a great night and a much needed kid free outing for my hubby and I. Below is one of my favorite photos of the two of us from the party! I him!
That’s my weekend in a flash, how was yours?!

CREATING INSPIRATION THAT’S TANGIBLE
Last year, I participated in a conference hosted by Coca-Cola and Blogher. While there, we (bloggers) were asked to put together an inspiration board filled with some things we would like to accomplish in our personal lives.
Because it was spur of the moment, I really didn’t have a chance to think about everything that I would want to put on my inspiration board. Now that it’s the beginning of the year, I think it’s a great time to start on a new one!
With this board, I want to focus on a few things:
CAREER
It’s time for my business to grow. I thought of Swoon Worthy Boutique two years ago and haven’t done everything with it that I want to.
HOME
My home is coming along pretty good, but we’ve been here for three years and it’s time for me to with it when it comes to finishing up decorating it.
TRAVEL
I’ve actually started going to different places. Now that I have taken my first plane ride, it’s on and popping (though I still cry when it’s time to board!). I want to go to a few more places (other than New York)… Maybe somewhere exotic
HEALTH
Another thing I want to work on is my health. Another thing that I started, but eventually gave up on was exercising and losing weight.
SPIRITUAL
At one point, I attended church regularly. Now, not so much. Because I believe that you don’t actually have to attend a building to be connected with God, I decided to stop going. I was at peace with that decision, but I must admit that there is just something about being surrounded with other people in worship. With all of the controversy in the news with some of these “mega” church leaders, I have not decided if I want to attend my home church service again or if I would prefer to just purchase the CD and continue to get the word at home.
BEAUTY
I did “the big chop” over the summer and I’m so glad I did! I’m currently growing my hair back, but I think I want to chop it off again. Having no hair forces you to try and glam yourself up more than you usually would. Because I got caught up in all of DIY and decorating my home, I let myself go when it came to “beauty”. I even stopped shopping for clothes.
FASHION
My first love was fashion. In school, I planned to move to New York, find love, and land a job/career as a buyer or a fashion forecaster. Over the past few years I’ve lost touch with my inner fashionista. It’s time to get back to that. Another thing that got me in a funk is that I’m now plus size. **PAUSE** I’ve always been plus size to American standards, but now I’m plus size to mine. I recently (sadly) realized that being plus sized does not mean that you have to look frumpy all of the time. Plus size can be fabulous!
Hopefully in the next few days I’ll have a chance to work on my board. I have the perfect spot for it already!
It kind of defeats the purpose of creating an inspiration board if you’re going to put it in a drawer or somewhere out of site. You want to place it somewhere so you can see it daily to continue to be inspired by it. When I finish mine, I’ll share it with you!
*If you create inspiration boards, what are you including in yours this year? Have you started a new board already?
